Real Estate Radio USA Episode 99

On today’s show we covered the Top Blog List from the guys over at ActiveRain, the latest out of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and had an interesting interview with a real estate broker in Las Vegas, Nevada that is practicing real estate in his own way. All of this on today’s episode of Real Estate Radio USA.

We started the show today talking about the latest post from Johnathan Washburn over at ActiveRain. It seems that they have come up with what they are calling the “Inaugural Real Estate Top Blog Index: March 2008“. However, after close review of the list, it seems that there we some obvious exclusions. The MOST obvious was yours truly… Real Estate Radio USA. Barry C calls it “a conspiracy and an absolute travesty”. We hope that this slight will soon be righted by those in charge!

Two stories from the real estate world today involving Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. In the first story, the mortgage powerhouses have essentially declared that it is open season for Short Sales. They have loosened restrictions and publicly stated that working out a discount on the mortgage is much more preferable to taking the property back. On the second story, they tell the public you had better consider a short sale, because if you do have a foreclosure, you will have some serious hurdles to jump through if you ever want a loan backed by them in the future.

Last, but definitely not least, we had an interview with a true maverick real estate broker from Las Vegas. Billy O’Keefe from O’KeefeCasto talked to us about his refreshing approach to real estate sales and how he gives all of his clients a 100% Money Back Guarantee on every transaction. He also gives everyone a few negotiation pointers that may change the way you practice real estate.
