On today’s show we kept the theme from a recent Barry C post titled, “Gen X, Gen Y, And the End Of the Traditional Real Estate Business“. We were joined by a couple of real estate agents who exemplify the future of real estate, Lisa Johnson from Boston and Hunter Jackson from Columbia, SC. All of this and more on this episode of Real Estate Radio USA.
We opened the show today with a Barry C blog post titled, “Gen X, Gen Y, And the End Of the Traditional Real Estate Business“. We discussed what could be called the demise of the current real estate sales model and the need for the industry to embrace the “new blood” and start recruiting younger agents that can speak to the Gen X and Gen Y consumers in the language and ways they want.
Our interviews today were with a couple of agents that are filling the need for a new type of real estate salesperson. First we were joined by Hunter Jackson from Columbia, SC. Hunter found a novel way to move REO properties in his community, a cookout.
Second we interviewed Lisa Johnson from Boston. Lisa was the subject a Boston Globe article regarding reaching the Gen Y and Gen X demographic and what they want in a real estate agent.
We closed the show talking about Trulia Voices and Barry C’s latest post, “Have You Seen Some Of The Answers On Trulia Voices?“. In what could have been a great forum for consumers to connect with a professional real estate agent, it seems that these same agents have poisoned the process and spend their time talking about themselves and their thoughts rather than answering the consumers questions.
