Join us this week as we interview the best and brightest stars from the real estate industry and the general business world.
Monday June 23, 2008 – Jennifer Allan
Jennifer Allan, the newest contributing author here at Real Estate Radio USA, is a top producing real estate broker, a published author, a speaker and a trainer. She has written five books about the business of selling real estate, including her flagship book: Sell with Soul: Creating an Extraordinary Career in Real Estate without Losing Your Friends, Your Principles or Your Self-Respect.
Her book shows new agents how to jumpstart their career so that they can experience success before they become discouraged and risk being just another real estate statistic.
Jennifer began her writing career after ten years of selling real estate successfully in Denver, Colorado. She was dismayed at the low level of professionalism she frequently encountered in the real estate industry and, with her “soulful” message, hopes to encourage the real estate community to self-correct the negative stereotypes of the profession.
She is a regular columnist at Realty Times and RE/MAX Times, and one of the industry’s most popular bloggers. She recently rejoined her former RE/MAX office as a broker associate and is thoroughly enjoying dividing her time between real estate sales, writing, and coaching.

Friday June 27, 2008 – Mike Butler
Mike was raised in the south end of Louisville, Kentucky and is the oldest of 7 kids. He bought his first house before age 20. In 1991, while buying another rental house, Mike met Ed Melton Sr., who introduced him to the Kentuckiana Real Estate Investors Association. From KREIA and by attending workshops and seminars around the country, Mike developed into a focused, aggressive real estate investor, who takes pride in avoiding banks to buy investment property. He is still very active in KREIA today.
Mike realized early on that he MUST have a strong foundation in order to grow quickly and safely. Mike has reviewed many property management software programs only to discover they fell short of what was needed. Remember, property management software is usually designed for those who manage property for others for a fee. Those programs can cost thousands of dollars plus more for tech support. Mike has spent THOUSANDS of hours tweaking and  researching Quicken and QuickBooks Pro. His method is getting the results that he needs.

Hi Barry,
I have been listening to your show for the past few days. I am intrigued with your discussion on the dirty word “vendors” and have had some similar questions that I posed on a post I wrote. I got only a few answers and a post was written in response about vendors as I believe it was leeches that need to be squelched. My personal favorite was “interlopers”. Would love to share my questions and see if I can get some more answers:
1. When does an internet prospect become your property?
2. When does an internet advertising company infringe upon business you “would have otherwise had”?
3. Do you ever consider offline marketing venues- newspapers, magazines, etc. to be interlopers to your real estate business?
4. If a past client bypasses you and goes through a third party company- Relocation OR Lead Generation- should this be considered an after the fact referral?
5. Which of these count as an interloper- Lead Generation companies, Relocation companies, Real Estate Social Networks, Referral Companies, Real Estate website vendors?
Thank you, an inquiring mind just wants to know:-)
Also, just an fyi to anyone who might be reading, using the words, “You People” regardless of whether you look service providers or not is going to get my back up.
Just sayin’
