Have you seen Hancock ? Not your average Superhero! The kids and I opted for Hulk this 4th of July weekend. I haven’t seen Hancock but when I visited the film’s website site I found something compelling enough to draw me in for sure. Â
Sony Pictures has coordinated and essay contest with the promo and release of the film. The site tells you that the Super Hero and his PR people have teamed up and that they want to “pay off the home loan of one deserving family “.Â
Hancock’s All Heart campaign asks that a homeowner write a short essay (1500 characters or less) on why you deserve to have your mortgage paid off. Considering the multi million dollar budget it must have taken to promote a “Hancock“ , the mortgage payoff (up to $360,000) seems like a bargain for Sony should the promo pay off.Â
It’s an insignificant portion of a marketing budget. Sony may be onto something here. Go to the film’s website, and click on the link Hancock’s Helping Hand Mortgage Payoff Contest.
Maybe Hancock is “not your average Superhero” .…hmmm……,  maybe he’s just smarter and more in tune with his audience than the average…………… He sure got my attention !

This is “cheap” PR for Sony Pictures!
I did see Hancock last Tuesday. Hancock was good up until the “plot twist”. The last 1/3 of Hancock goes downhill for me.
Absolutely a bargain. They should probably be more in your face with it but I can’t argue with success. I’ve yet to see any real state organization come up with any novel idea.
I still haven’t see the flick but I will soon.
Hulk left me anxious for the next film. The ending tells you that there’s more to come (in a Robert Downey Jr. kind of way).
