I Realized I Should Have Had A V8!
Like in the commercial, nt, twitter, you one day realize that there is something better than that which you are doing..I had a real estate investing epiphany yesterday. I was sitting and talking to the other Barry and said..”Dude..I don’t get this Twitter thing at all, no one is actually saying anything worth hearing”.
Then after 2 hours, an horrible American Idol episode on Tivo and 3 or 4 Mojitos, it hit me. We were following and trying to converse with the wrong crowd. Voila…V8 moment!
Have you ever gone to a party and after spending about half an hour or so you lean over to your wife / girlfriend / best bud / significant other and say…”this sucks, I’m outta here. Meet me by the elevator in 10 minutes”. Then like it’s some Survivor Island strategy you leave your wingman to fend for himself to make it out alive? C;mon, we’ve all done it.
So What Does This Have To Do With Twitter?
Okay, so for over a year we have been following one dud after the other listening to them tell us what detergent they were using or whether or not they should make cookies from scratch or buy cookie dough. I mean I jumped on Twitter to network and meet some people who want to make money in real estate and thru Internet Marketing.
What we did wrong is to think that the group of people we should be mingling with at the Twitter party were real estate agents. V8 moment in the making. While there are some agents we have met who are serious about taking the bull by the horn and making some actual cash. Many, if not most, seem to be afraid of actually getting out there and making some money.
So last night, in true Neo form, we unplugged..I mean seriously unplugged. We “unfollowed” hundreds and hundreds of ordinary, stick in the mud, whiny real estate agents and started looking for our peeps. Those who see real estate as a commodity. Those who know that they want what the world has for them and aren’t afraid to step out and do what’s necessary to make some money.
So we started following some people based upon their profiles and WOW!! In a little under 24 hours we have connected with some really cool people across the Country.
I am now enthused about Twitter and I feel like I took a long hot shower and came out cleasned on the other end.
Moral of the story, if you’re a Wicca priestess it may not make sense to follow Pat Buchanan! I want to connect with people who want to share ideas and experiences that will help a collective of people who have similar interests.
This is fun again!
