Dyersburg TN Real Estate

Dyersburg Tn Real Estate

I don’t know where Dyersburg, TN is and I really don’t care. I most assuredly am not looking to buy any property in the Dyersburg Tn Real Estate market. No this is not an article denigrating the town of Dyersburg whatsoever. Rather this post is written in an attempt to expose and forever halt the mythological “Google Juice” monster that seems to roam ActiveRain.

Anyone who is invloved in Internet marketing understands how important it is to be seen as relevant by Google. After all, in essence, Google is like a silent business partner. In order to somewhat understand our business partner, you have to have a rudimentary knowlege of how Google works.

I am not going to go into an SEO lesson. God knows there are tons of SEO experts out there. I just wanted to offer one tidbit that most real estate agents seem to overlook when they are paying homage to the great Google god.

You see Google will index just about anything. If someone posts something Google will more than likely find it and stick it somewhere. The trick we all must learn is to make sure we put our stuff where the most possible people will see it. Hence the importance of keywords.

I read a post on ActiveRain today by yet another AR resident who was praising AR for helping the writer obtain the elusive Google Juice. Go to AR and search “Google Juice” and no less than 545 articles contained the said phrase du jour.

Here’s the problem. While it is great to show up #1 in the serps for a particular keyword. It’s a lot more important that people are actually searching that keyword. Now there’s an epiphany. Yes, showing up #1 for a keyword no one is searching for is like being the top surfer in a desert surfing competition. It means natta!

You have to pick keywords that people are actually seeking out and then try to rank for them. Unfortunately the poor guy on AR didn’t know that there less than 20 searches per day for Dyersburg Tn Real Estate. As of today he is number 10 for that search term which means that other than his family and maybe his second grade teacher, NO  ONE is going to visit his site.

So what should this poor guy have done. Well here are some totals of what people are actually searching for in his area:

  1. dyersburg homes- 2,400 searches per month
  2. dyersburg tennessee – 18,000 searches per month

While these would be a bit tougher to rank for, undoubtedly if he was able to rank for these terms, he would get substantially more visitors.

Heck we have nothing to do with Dyersburg TN Real Estate and I am sure we’ll end up in the top 20 or better for this one simple post. I can’t imagine what would happen if we did even a small SEO campaign around it. Reason? There is little or no competition for this keyword. It’s easy to rank for it.

There are so many people out there giving SEO advice. They are being paid to have your site show up. Have you ever asked them how many visitors you can expect for the keywords you are optimized for?

It’s no great feat to be ranked highly in the SERPS for keywords no one is searching. That’s not Google Juice..it’s Google vinegar!

Although I expect the wrath of the AR crowd for writing this, I have made some headway if just one agent or investor unplugs from the whole Goggle juice hysteria and understands it’s as much about what you rank for as it is where you rank.

Our next installment of Google Juice Exposed will show you how to actually determine what keywords actually matter.

Exactly!!! Yet some people consider this to be an achievement and spend their time to chase down the all consuming need to have the taste of google juice…not realizing for a moment that they have been had.

Barry, First of all nice name you got out there.

Secondly, the post is really good, I liked it, eventhough its not really about real estate and this was the reason I start reading this blog in the first place…

Not just Barry..but BC as well!

Whoa Nelly….not about real estate? Someone not in class yesterday or the day before or day before?

Listen Coop…this IS a post about real estate. That is if there are agents, and investors out there hoping to actually make money in the business and intend on marketing to do so.

With 84+% of those looking to buy and or sell a property beginning on the Internet…ummm where do you think they are starting?

You see if you are going to be marketing your business, then Google is most assuredly going to be very close to the top of any serious marketer’s checklist.

For instance, and only you can answer this, by searching what terms would you want consumers to find you?

Keywords are indeed very essential, especially in the realm of real estate where so many professionals often compete in the same area. Very informative post!
