Is Your Online Business Ready For The Holidays?

I can’t remember when I have worked this hard. Seriously, we all know the myth about living the Internet lifestyle but if you truly want to make money on the Internet the leisure lifestyle comes AFTER you have your business set-up. I love making money online and the Internet affords me a great deal of freedom but it’s also chock full of opportunity.

You see, I could probably slow down and live well off of what we have already built but I keep seeing markets to get into which are prime for the taking. One of those markets is the holiday buying season. We’re launching 3-6 sites per day right now for our Christmas blitz.  Do you have an Internet presence taking advantage of the holiday shopping frenzy? Where’s your Internet store?

Why are we doing so much? Easy answer. By the time Christmas day rolls around we’ll have over 100 sites selling everything from Santa outfits and costumes to turkey fryers.

While everyone is screaming about the economy being in a recession, Internet shoppers are expected to drive online sales with a 15% increase in activity. This is happening while overall retail sales are anticipated to be down this season.

Shop.org, which is the online version of the National Retail Federation says that online consumers are expected to spend over $44 Billion in November and December which is nearly twice that which was spent in a 2004 study completed by Forrester Research.

Here’s a couple of interesting tidbits from the recent study:

1. 63% of shoppers 65 and older will do some online shopping
2. 78% of ALL consumers will do some shopping online with 16% of those consumers buying more than half of their purchases online.

The Sacramento Bee had a recent article that goes into more detail about the online trends of the holiday season but suffice it to say that if you are seeking to make money on the Internet you better be taking advantage of the increasing demand of the consumer to make their shopping more convenient.

I’m taking down as much of that $44 Billion pie as possible.
