Why Are There So Few Money Making Blogs?
There Are A Number Of Reasons That There Aren’t More Money Making Blogs!
“If you don’t offer customers something they dearly want, whether it’s to gain some great pleasure or escape some great pain, you’re not going to make any money.” – Sonia Simone is the Senior Editor of Copyblogger.
I love that line that Sonia used in the above referenced article. People who get into this “business” forget just that…it’s a business. First and foremost, unless you are a struggling writer trying to hone your craft, or unless you are a non-profit advocate, you have to remember that you are indeed blogging to make money.
To quote Sonia in another article she wrote, “ if the problem you’re solving isn’t compelling, you’ve got a rough road ahead. She went on to quote Seth Godin and said, no one cares much about their “I’d like a slightly better version of something that is already just fine” problem.
So I have a quick question. Are you working each day to solve a problem or deliver what your prospective consumer really wants? Do you even know what their problems or desires are? Do you know how to find out?
If you can’t answer those questions then why are you blogging and how can you expect to have one of the few money making blogs? If every thing you write or email out is a pitch to buy something, then you are going to fail miserably. That is unless your subscriber asked for you to pitch them over and over again…which I highly doubt.
Look at some of those who are successful in the industry you are seeking to penetrate. If you want to sell your SEO services then perhaps you may want to take a look at SEMOZ. If you want to show people how they can better copywriters then perhaps Copyblogger may be the place to look. What you will see on both of those sites is tons and tons of usable information.
They help solve their readers problems…and they also know what those problems are. So what audience are you trying to reach? Are you trying to reach an audience that wants to make money on the Internet? Do you think selling them a product that promises to make a million dollar sin 30 days really solves THEIR problems? Sure, it may solve some of yours, but that’s a short time player’s mentality.
Here’s a better way to do that and still make money online. How about identifying a segment of people who need to make some money in a short amount of time. Let’s say you target people who would like to make $1,000.00 in the next 60 days. That would be a realistic amount to make, even for a newbie. Now show them how to do that.
Show them how they can make $1,000.00 in the next 60 days. Now show them how to do that for free. Prove to them that you know what you’re talking about. No blurred out photoshop inflated figures. No telling them I have a Lambo and you can do BS. No telling them that you have cracked the almight Google and for $197.00 you can too.
No, solve a problem before you ask for money and do it in a clear and concise manner. So you’re asking yourself..”why in the work would I give away what I know”. Simple..because I don’t know you! I don’t believe you! You have no credibility. You have no standing. Or in the words of the movie “O Brother, Where Art Thou“… you ain’t bonafde! (love that movie!)
But don’t fret. it won’t take you long to diffrentitae yourself. That’s why you can become one of the few money making blogs out there. Most of the scammers and small timers are looking for the quick hit and the fast easy money that comes from duping everyone.
Making money online isn’t hard at all and no one should be telling anyone anything to the contrary. But it does take work and it does take being taught how by credible sources who are willing to help you solve your problems and obtain your desires.
We try to stand behind what we publish here and if you want to see how we can help you make money or at least solve some of your problems that you may be having in your endeavors online, simply check out the video below.

What Marketers Can Learn From Avatar The Movie (shoemoney.com)
Internet Marketing Trends To Look For In 2010
Internet Marketing Trends For The New Year Indicate That Blogging Is Dead!
Entrepreneur.com published a very interesting article regarding Internet marketing trends to watch in the new year. While their top 10 list of online trends contained the usual fare, there were some eye opening trends that they have spotted and that we all may want to take notice of.
They rated their survey of trends as either, Invest in them, Test in them, or Give them a rest (i.e. fuhgettaboutit!). Two of the trends that they said were dead for 2010 made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. The article said that blogging as we know it is done, over, finished. Surprisingly, I agree.
Let’s face it, the system is gamed to the max. How much more can be written about the same subject over and over again. There are only so many keywords (at least that’s what many think), the industry is permeated with black hat seo tactics and not that I’m a Nobel Laureate, there’s a lot of crap being written just to “try” and fool the search engines.
The result is a consumer that bypasses much of what’s written as they are skeptical and resistant to the onslaught of “you too can make $10,000.00 per day and I have the secret!” Remember, Col. Sanders made KFC a brand by NOT giving away the secrets. Yet inane Internet marketers continue to think the public is stupid. Pssst…if it’s a secret code then why are you selling it? Just asking..but I have to tell you that selling the “secret code” is an oxymoron! Sort of like airport security. Just saying…
All is not lost however, as Entrepreneur says…”If you’re writing a blog to help with search engine rankings or to inform existing customers, you should continue to test or invest”. Which is why we, for the moment, continue to write. Notice the words “sell” and “market to”, were not included in that line. I agree. I really never saw blogging as a sales platform. It has been more an ends to a means per se.
We blog to of course improve our rankings, but first and foremost to inform our existing readership. That’s why we chose a magazine style format when we created this blog. We didn’t want the site to appear like an ocean of text merely directed at selling to the point of nauseation (yea..I made that word up!).
If you are truly looking to sell to a consumer then you are going to want to target them with landing pages that give them what they are looking for. For instance, this article is about Internet marketing trends. If someone is reading this they are more than likely looking for what will be hot for 2010.
I guess I could sell them and e-book or some kind of special report, but I’m looking to “inform” our readership which in turn hopefully brings them back for future visits. maybe they return enough to the point where they give me permission to market to them by opting in for something.
However, this article is not written to sell or market anything to them. If I was looking to market something to this demo (you do know what that is right??), I would create a new landing page on a new domain that is a pitch page. That’s how you market directly to a prospect. As the entrepreneur.com article suggests… “
Converting prospects into customers depends on driving visitors to content that maximizes conversions, and that means your conversion rate is only as good as the content on your landing page. If that landing page is your blog and your blog changes frequently, your conversion rate is only as good as your latest blog post.”
Get the point? Hopefully you understand that when the consumer is looking for a camera, then sell it to them. When they are looking for “pictures of corvettes” don’t write a blog post that ends up being a pitch. Your conversion will suck! Maybe that’s the reason so many Internet marketers work on the 1% conversion model. it’s probably due to the fact that they won’t test and invest in creating new landing pages on keyword specific domains.
Look at it this way. If you launched just 2 landing pages per week, it would only cost you about $80 bucks per month. At the end of the year you would have 100, keyword specific, laser targeted landing pages directed at what the consumers really want.
Enough about blogging. Now for the other startling bit of info from Entrepreneur.com. They say that online radio and podcasting is out for 2010. Yikes! Just as we are about to launch Massive Profits Radio, could we be dead before we start? well it doesn’t appear that we’re toast as we luckily already have a listenership and readership. If we were just starting out with no traffic and no name recognition I doubt we would be getting into it.
Also, it’s not a media component that you want to half-ass your way through. We have spent thousands of dollars on equipment. The idea is to differentiate ourselves. We have known many who tried to follow us when we were doing our real estate radio show and they failed miserably. It’s not easy and if it’s not done right, you may end up actually hurting your brand rather than enhancing it.
One of the reasons that Entrepreneur.com advises against podcasting and online radio for 2010 is because they believe that most who attempt to broadcast a show don’t have the resources to “make the media more shareable” and “more engaging“. Our shows had both of those aspects covered. Trust me, you may not have liked what we said on our shows, and you may not like what you hear on Massive Profits Radio, but you WILL be engaged. We make it a point to be entertianing AND informative.
But alas, we live in a YouTube world and as Entrepreneur.com says and as everyone has been clamoring about, video is the wave of the future. So does that mean Massive Profits Radio will soon morph into Massive Profits TV? Well let me ask you this. If one of the strongest Internet marketing trends for 2010 is the increased use and penetration of online video..what do you think?

Are You Seriously Stuffing Envelopes For Money?
Stuffing Envelopes For Money Is Like Using A Typewriter To Create A Letter!
While I guess it could work, the bigger question would be why would you want to? I mean, I’m actually old enough to remember what a typewriter was and I know a lot of real estate agents who still think that it’s modern technology, but why would you use one in today’s wired age? Besides that..it’s a scam!
Even the postal service regards it as such. (please note, if there any ads for stuffing envleopes in the Google box at right, they were assigned to this page by Google Adsense…not by me)
Sort of the same question in regards to stuffing envelopes for money? I am also old enough to remember reading ads for people to stuff envelopes in the back of my comic books and “magazines”. For some reason they were always near the ad about the guy having sand kicked in his face and the “amazing cream that…well could make things grow”. (if you know what I mean…and unfortunately I think you do)
We are about to turn the page on another decade. Soon it will be 2010 and I can’t fathom that will all of the opportunity available to make money on the Internet that some would continue to try to earn some quick cash by stuffing envelopes for money.
I’m not one to look down my nose at anybody. All I am saying is that if you are looking for a way to make some extra money, there are a number of more efficient and definitely more rewarding ways to make money online. What I fear is that people are so afraid of being scammed and lied to that they would rather try to do something that they don’t take the necessary steps that they need to make some real money.

Marketing To Hispanics
Marketing To Hispanics Will Be A Big Trend In 2010.
We are analyzing a number of trends that are forecast for 2010 and one that stands out and makes us take notice is the prominence of the Hispanic market. Hispanic consumers represent the fastest growing segment of the population of the United States.
The growth is astounding. Representing 25% of all new births in the U.S., this segment could have a major impact on Internet businesses. Recent studies indicate that the Hispanic market is actually spending more time on the Internet than their non-Hispanic counterparts.
In fact, the Hispanic consumer would rather be online than watch television. 70% of Hispanic consumers describe themselves as simultaneous Internet users and say that they are either frequently or always online.
While making up a HUGE population pool here in the U.S., Hispanics still regard the Spanish language as their primary voice.
As localized marketing is beginning to take a foothold, expect those Internet marketers who know what they are doing to put great emphasis on catering to the Hispanic market.
Have you been thinking about marketing to Hispanics? Have you thought of a few niches that would appeal to Hispanics? Maybe as a part of the planning for your 2010 business efforts, it would be prudent to include a website or blog focused on products and services that cater to a Hispanic audience.
What products do Hispanics use? That’s an easy question…the same ones everbody else does. This isn’t a racial equation or cultural impediment that you have to worry about troubleshooting. No, it’s a marketing focus.
Selling and marketing to Hispanics is more about approach than anything else. We have marketed to many ethnic groups. Our success has been in the approach. Learning the colors, style, graphics and message that conveys respect, understanding and sincerity.
You’re not looking to trick anyone into buying anything, you are just adjusting your message to reach and saturate a different audiences.
If you want examples of what I am talking about simply sit in front of the television for about 30 minutes. Watch your normal programs for 15 minutes, and then turn on a Spanish television network for 15 minutes.
More than likely you will see similar commercials. However, notice the subtle difference in presentation and delivery. Marketing to Hispanics or any other demographic is an art form. Learn how and you’re going to be able to write your own ticket…for a long time.
The great thing about Internet marketing is the relative ease of adaptation. Where it might take a bigger company months to spot an emerging trend and then act upon it, we can move quickly. If you’re reading this article, 30 minutes later you could have a business catering to a Latin audience.
If you want to begin taking steps to be a successful Internet marketer and want to include the Hispanic market in your focus, then learn how succeed and increase your ability to make money on the Internet.

Learn How To Make Money Online For Free

Here’s an announcement that you need to hear. There is no reason to be ashamed at wanting to learn how to make money online for free. A lot of our readers want to make money online but don’t have the financial resources to buy some of the products they see being promoted. But don’t worry. Making money online doesn’t mean that you have to buy courses that cost hundreds or thousands of dollars.
There is most certainly a way to make money online for free. We subscribe to the theory of advancing the free line. I have been finding out more and more that the theory that Chris Anderson had is becoming more and more of a reality.
As Anderson wrote, “… the idea that you can make money by giving something away is no longer radical.” That statement seems to be extremely applicable to the Internet marketing industry. We are seeing more and more readers. We are seeing more and more subscribers. And certainly more participants to our trainings, webinars and of course our listenership to our radio show episodes has exploded. All of it offered for free, without a single pitch or request for anyone to buy any products that we have created.
All of this underscores what we are finding out. As previously discussed, those who begin to market with full integration end up creating longer lasting relationships. So how do you make money by giving your content away for free? That’s the easy part. You create value and build brand loyalty.
Brand loyalty and the concept of branding is an ageless marketing strategy that many in the online world have either abandoned or simply ignored. That’s why so may in the business are not recognized by the masses. I’ll give you a quick example. While we all know the big names “in the biz”, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone in the mall who even knows who Frank Kern or Eben Pagan. While I like both of those guys and think they are pillars of the online community, they are not readily recognized outside of our circle.
Now, on the other hand…do you know who the Video Professor is? He is branded and provides a free product and then once his credibility has been established with the value of his product known, he can make money based upon his inherent authority with his audience. And you know what, I’ve never received an email pitch from anyone in his organization.
While you may not be able to be the next Frank Kern and while it may be impossible to be as world renown as the Video Professor, you can start today by advancing the free line in your own endeavors.
While many may not agree with me, I can tell you first hand that the building of our brand has allowed us to grow exponentially. And our growth has been achieved without the program that most gurus speak of.
Well, if you would like to learn how to make money online for free, take a moment and watch the video below. Though many have given up on making money online it is still possible to make money without paying anything to start. This website is designed to help those who need a little help without spending an arm and a leg.
The Squeeze Page May Be An Outdated Concept

Are you employing a squeeze page as a part of your online marketing effort? Do you even know what a squeeze page is? Well, don’t sweat it, we’ll give you some info here that will give you a working knowledge on squeeze pages and their viability in today’s Internet marketing world.
So you always hear marketers, and would be marketers say that the “money is in the list”. That may indeed have been true in the past but people are becoming more and more immune to the daily email from 20 different marketers all pitching the next big thing.
I have a question from all of the marketers who are pitching the same crap over and over again. If I received an email from you last week, and you told me I had to buy this or that product to make money online, then why are you sending me an email telling me that product du jour is the next big thing?
Please…you’re emails are tired and now that everyone and their mother has a list, the squeeze page is becoming obsolete. Think I’m full of it? Then tell me why everyone is chasing a 1% conversion rate? Why would you get out of bed for a 1% conversion rate?
Oh yeah…I know why…because you need to continue to find more and more suckers to buy the products you are pushing. I think the concept of the squeeze page is a big fat FAIL. So does that mean that I think that email marketing is dead as well. No, quite the contrary.
You see, I believe that email marketing is a misnomer. I believe it should be called integrated relationship marketing. Well, that’s just a big phrase for what Seth Godin coined as permission marketing.
“Permission marketing is the privilege (not the right) of delivering anticipated, personal and relevant messages to people who actually want to get them. It recognizes the new power of the best consumers to ignore marketing. It realizes that treating people with respect is the best way to earn their attention.” – Seth Godin
We have decided to build a relationship via our use of the squeeze page. I would like to reward our readers and subscribers. By rewarding our readers we are using our email marketing as an extension of the content that they already find valuable. I’m not saying it’s valuable, they are telling us so by asking for more of it.
Has anyone that you have sent an email to told you that they want more of what you are offering? Imagine how that would fell. Imagine readers (customers) asking you for more information.
We are offering our readers a continuing wall of content. Educational and instructional both. We’re pretty sure they have some fun with it as well. Never do we make pitches or promote crap to them. When we have a product that we wish for them to view, they find it as an integrated component of the very content that they value.
So instead of using a squeeze page which everyone now recognizes as nothing ore than a sales pitch, why not engage your reader with valuable content that they find integrated therein? It’s easier than you may imagine. Once you have your reader’s attention and they anticipate your email, you’ll never need a squeeze page again.
If you’d like to know how we implement our content integration technique, simply watch the free video below.
Did you see how I just did that? Who needs a squeeze page?
How To Make Extra Money Without Spending Any
We get emails and tweets from people all of the time who want to know how to make extra money. Problem is that most of the people we hear from want to know how to make extra money without actually spending any money.
Umm…you even have to pay for lottery tickets! Seriously, making money online isn’t easy and it’s surely not something you can do without any personal investment. Even if you intend on being the next Perez Hilton or William Sledd, you still need to buy a at least a Flip Mino video camera?
That is to say that some people see rise to riches stories and think they can do the same. While it is definitely possible to make HUGE amounts of Internet money, I’m not aware of anyone who has done so without a combination of sweat equity and some form of personal investment.
Not much in life is accomplished without effort and finding out how to make extra money is fine, as long as you proceed with that simple caveat in mind. That being said, let’s see if we can’t help you with your quest to make extra money.
Since we’re about making money on the Internet, we’re going to focus on the Internet as the medium of choice for generating some relatively quick cash. So let’s look at some of the things you will need to do.
1. Commit to Internet marketing as a business. It doesn’t matter if you are going to start a blog, become an Amazon affiliate or become a YouTube star. You need to commit to it and tell yourself that you are starting a business. Telling yourself this will make you take on the responsibility to actually run a business. At least let’s hope so.
2. Decide what you’re good at. The biggest obstacle most people have in making money online is doing something they’re not good at. To me, making money is about having fun. Otherwise I’d just get a job. This is FUN. I like to write. You may be a camera hound and love to make videos, maybe you want to have a radio show…now that’s a novel idea (couldn’t resist the plug…sorry)…whatever your passion is, pursue it.
3. If you want to know how to make extra money then make sure it truly is extra, as in there is money somewhere else. What I’m saying is don’t quit your job until your online business has replaced your normal income. When your “extra money” is on pace to exceed your normal money then is when you look at doing your online thing full time.
4. Dreaming big is fine, but you have to follow through on things. Read everything you can get your hands on. Expect to put in some hours around your job. Stay up late and learn the tricks of the trade. You do this and you’ll be amazed how far you can go.
5. Kick the naysayers to the curb. They are your biggest impediment to success. Leave working at the convenience store to those idiots who won’t support you. The idea here is not to learn how to make extra money, the idea here is to change your life. Which is exactly what will happen if you take this seriously.
One of the most lucrative ways to generate cash online is via affiliate marketing. There is a very low barrier to entry (maybe too low) and you can get involved with a modicum of cash and the sky is the limit on what you can earn.
With affiliate marketing you can become your own boss, set your own hours, promote and market just about any product that you want and once you grow you can even create and market your own.
So if you truly want to learn how to make extra money, I would recommend that you learn as much as you can about how the business works. Check out the video below and find out how to make extra money. You’ll see in the video that it’s really easy to begin your path to getting what you want.
Make Sure You Use Keywords That Accurately Describe Your Article
If you want to have as high of a ranking as possible, one of the things that you can, and should do, is utilize the keywords that accurately describe your article and the theme of your blog.
If you are trying to make money with Adsense or if you are simply trying to drive free, organic traffic to your site, you are going to need to optimize your site. One of those strategies is the use of the proper keyword.
Yes, it’s going to take some effort on your part. Forget what the guru’s say, you aren’t going to make $5,000 per day overnight. Well..I guess you could if you spend a ton on pay-per-click advertising, but we’re talking about free traffic.

(Here’s a hint…if you get an email from a guru…check the ranking of their own site…it might reveal something very interesting to you)
Obviously before you can actually use the keywords that accurately describe your article, you have to find those keywords. This activity is one of those hurdles that separates would be Internet marketers from those that actually achieve some success.
In four easy steps you can begin to enjoy some traffic to your site. Here are those steps you need to take:
1. Find a keyword that can direct traffic to your site. Sounds easy and it really is. However you have to have the right tools in place to help you with this arduous, but necessary task.
2. Write an article that is focused on the theme of the keyword you have selected.
3. Have a plan for monetizing the traffic that you receive.
