Vacation Travel In Bavaria

Bavaria. Formerly a free state, it is a part of Germany. I took a gander at the different ones in the B list, and chose Bavaria. Because I like castles, and I like chocolate. Not necessarily in that order. And wait until you’ve seen the jaw-dropping vistas of the valley towns, and the towering peaks, the geography is postcard perfect.

As for the state of Bavaria, there are the incredible Bavarian Alps. Skiing, ice skating, winter sports galore. Snow-capped Alps are a feast for the eyes, as you sweep you eyes across the peaks, you will be swept away by the grandeur and majesty of these amazing mountains.

High up in the rarified air, you will be yodeling your way down the slopes, jumping into the hot tub in the winter wonderland suite, sipping on a hot beverage, and soothing away the worlds cares. This is a bucket list must.

Ok, how long is it gonna take me to arrive from the USA? About 7 hours, giving for the steering currents way up there. On arrival in Munich, off you go to your storybook ski lodge to while away the hours on the slopes, or, if you are so inclined, visiting the legendary Bavarian Forest which has the distinction of providing the ability to experience local culture, glass-art and nature.

The Castle Neuschwanstein is supposed to be the very castle Walt Disney used for inspiration in building Cinderellas Castle at his resorts. It looks like it just dropped in from a wonderful fairy tale, and is yours to discover.

Walking, hiking, cycling along the meadows and lakes, and of course, don’t forget about shopping. That is always a huge part of my travels, buying cool stuff from the different countries for friends/family.

And maybe something special for me, you know.

Do NOT forget about Ocktoberfest. Beer. Enough said.

Historic Bavaria has a dizzying array of places to experience, and we don’t want to forget our tummies, now do we? Oh,no!

Distinctive chocolates, charming restaurants, and many culinary delights await. I’ve always held a special place in my mind for this area.

I suppose it really does look like a fairy land, one that I read about in a childish book, and dreamt about seeing. Is is real? Go. Find out. And check off another one of your Bucket List promises to yourself. You deserve it.

What a nice and fun-to-read post. Thanks for the great pics. I agree, this place is a definite must-see, because it is as close to reality as dreams of castles and pretty pictures will ever get!
