Smart Realtors Show Less Properties Make More Money

With the real estate market being on the decline in many markets across the USA, how is it that some agents are enjoying robust sales and some of the best times in their career, while others continually complain and whine?
Meet Greg Kosareff, a real estate agent in Fresno, California. Instead of whining about the market, Kosareff has done something about it. He went where the customers are, online. In doing so he is enjoying one of his best years ever. In the 13 years that Kosareff has been a real estate agent, he hasn’t seen business this good.
Kosareff realized what many real estate agents don’t. You need to market yourself and marketing, effective marketing that is, may require a personal investment. “As far as the paper publications that I do it’s almost minimal now. Everything that I try to do is related to the Internet and that type of advertising.”
He spends money marketing himself and syndicating his listings across the Internet and says potential buyers do most of the groundwork in advance gathering their own information from various sites. When they’re ready to buy & they simply get in touch. Imagine that…sounds an awful lot like Internet marketing works.
Kasaroff stated that ”A lot of them are actually responding via email first and then they will want to set up an appointment.”
The recent numbers out of the NAR say that they believe that just 8% of agents blog or have any kind of serious presence on the Internet. Many are either not in a position to spend money marketing their business or simply choose not to. In either case they are simply missing out.
NAR studies show that 85% or more of prospective buyers start there search on the Internet yet so few agents have any relevant presence there. Instead most wait for business to come to them and sit weekend after weekend in empty open houses, or spending their days knocking on doors trying to drum up business in some archaic obsolete fashion.
Kasaroff added, “I show less properties than I ever have but my business is growing because of the Internet.” Here’s an agent who understands the power of marketing to customers in the manner in which they want to be marketed to.
Right now Kasaroff is content that many agents keep doing as they are doing, it means he has less competition in a growing market of consumers utilizing the Internet to find their new home.
