The Listing Addendum Every Seller Must Have And Most Agents Will Never Agree To

January 27, 2008

Last week there was a lot of chatter on real estate industry blogs about the Ummel case in Carlsbad, California in which a client has taken her real estate agent to task over alleged misrepresentation and incompetency. As can be expected, many major news media organizations have picked up on the story and it has become a big news item across the Country. Read more

What’s In and What’s Out For 2008

January 23, 2008

I have to say that every once in a while I find myself picking up one of those magazines you see on the rack just as you are about to checkout in the grocery lines. Whether it be the one about another Elvis sighting, or the one about which celebrity is fat now, or the one that’s always talking about Britney spears, it does not really matter. I am just biding my time until the gum crackling glue head scanning my groceries tells me how much I have to pay for my items. Read more

Let Me Clear Something Up…We Remain Bullish On Real Estate!

January 9, 2008

We have a lot of fun on the air because of the absurdity of real estate professionals. Yes, sometimes we can be kind of harsh, but hey, it is a joke sometimes. Using professional and real estate in the same sentence, as I just did, is an oxymoron. A true professional would be able to provide sincere credible advice on their product and most real estate agents simply can not. Read more

Reality vs. Ideology. Reality Always Wins

January 6, 2008

This is what happens when facts and dreams collide. This is what happens when people with business and financial information at their disposal get into conversations with ideologues. The ideologues advocacy leaves them hopeless in the face of verifiable information. Read more

6 Profit Strategies in an Absolute Buyer’s Market

January 3, 2008

Some may read this and find it to be a bit harsh. That’s fine, it’s obviously not that kind of reader that this article seeks to reach.

I am speaking to the maverick. I am speaking to the man or woman who can look themselves in the mirror and unabashedly exclaim…”I am a Capitalist”!

This article is written to speak to those who are aggressive in their pursuit of profit. Steadfast in their sojourn for success, and ready to seize 2008 as the year that they have decided to make a change in the way that they do business.  Read more

If I was a Real Estate Broker…

buggywhip.jpg“Investing in a buggy whip after Henry Ford created the Model T was not going to be fruitful no mater how good a buggy whip it was.”

“”I’m sure that the last buggy whip company in America made the best damn buggy whips in the world” Larry “the Liquidator” Garfield from the 1991 movie “Other People’s Money”. Read more

“Give me your tired, your poor, your….”

“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

I am confused..especially by Bush bashers

December 12, 2007

I am confused..especially by Bush bashers…when did this prevailing theme of government stepping in and “taking care” of everything begin. It’s a relatively new mantra.

Have we become such a pathetic useless society that we expect government to fix all of our ills?
I don’t have a job…government better do something? Last time I looked there were a ton of jobs in the classifieds… I can’t pay my mortgage…government better do something? Read more

No Pablum Pukers Allowed

December 10, 2007

It started for me on December 3rd, 2007. In the middle of taping Episode 17, these fateful words were spoken…

“Let’s assume you are here for the same purpose we are… making money. Let’s look ourselves in the mirror and be very Proud of that fact. We’re not Pablum Puking people worrying about what the homeowner is thinking…” - Barry Cunningham

That was it. A phrase that suddenly cleared the fog. A phrase that put a definition to all of “those” people I had despised since childhood. It was a defining and life altering moment.   Read more
